Opportunity to apply for funding for projects dealing with global challenges

RDF pre call.fw

The call is out for proposals to the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) Research Development Fund.

WUN is a collection of research-intensive universities committed to addressing the world’s most urgent challenges collaboratively.  Last year WUN dispensed £120,076 across 12 research projects.

The Research Development Fund (RDF) is a catalytic fund aimed at building partnership and collaboration across the network to undertake innovative, high quality, sustainable research that addresses one of the four WUN Global Challenges:

  • Responding to Climate Change (focussing on global research platforms; and resilience of human systems; related to food and environmental security)
  • Global Public Health (focussing on a lifecourse approach to healthy ageing; health of migrants; the resilience of adolescents and health workers in different cultural context; and schools as setting for reducing risk factors associated with NCDs)
  • Global Higher Education and Research (focussing on access and equity in higher education: economic and social outcomes of diversity and globalisation)
  • Understanding Cultures (focussing on migration and population; two-way understanding of China; global digital cultures; and indigenous peoples and societies)

The official Call for Proposals is now available on the website and the final deadline will be 30 October 2015 (full guidelines, pre-call form and examples from past projects are available on our sharepoint site).

The deadline for one page expression of interest to be submitted internally to [email protected]  is 5pm GMT on Friday 31 July 2015.

Invitations for full applications will be sent on Wednesday 12 August; the draft full application deadline is Friday 2 October.
