Dr Mary Foss, a midwifery lecturer for over 20 years in the Faculty of Health Sciences, has died unexpectedly at the age of 59.
Mary was a practising midwife in Portsmouth and Southampton for many years. Her passion for woman centred maternity care, through good midwifery education, took her to India and South Sudan before she retired nearly two years ago.
Mary is survived by a husband and daughter.
The funeral will take place on Thursday 16 July and the University flag will be lowered to half-mast on that day.
