The University recently welcomed representatives from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS London) for an information session about funding and collaboration opportunities with Japanese researchers.
The JSPS is Japan’s leading funding agency and is largely funded through annual subsidies from the Japanese Ministry Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).
The session was opened by Professor James S Wilkinson, Associate Dean Strategy and Planning from Physical Sciences and Engineering. The researchers that joined the University for the event were Deputy Director of JSPS London Ms Chigusa Ogaya, International Programme Associate Mr Takafumi Okada, and International Programme Coordinator Ms Polly Watson. An overview of the company was given, as well as information about the JSPS Fellowship Programme.
