Nearly one thousand of you braved the wind and torrential downpour to join us at this year’s Staff Party.

To mark this year’s garden party theme, there were sandwiches and cakes galore in the central marquee and we are reliably informed by Catering that you drank 580 pints of Pimm’s.
Linda Treviss from Estates (pictured right) became the University Star Baker for her cake and Teresina Easter, also from Estates (pictured left) came second.
Congratulations to the winners and also to the other five finalists. Vice-Chancellor, Professor Don Nutbeam judged the entries, with a little help from the University’s Executive Head Chef, Graham Senior. They both praised the quality of the cakes and said that everyone was a winner.
