2015/16 Annual Pay Settlement update

The New Joint Negotiating Committee Higher Education Staff (JNCHES) met on 17 September for the second and final Dispute Resolution meeting in respect of the 2015-16 New JNCHES pay round.

At the meeting, UCEA provided more detail on the joint work on the gender pay gap and hourly paid/casual staff proposed in the final offer, whilst confirming that the level of the full and final pay offer remains unchanged.

The base pay offer is for a 1% uplift on all points of the pay spine, except for the first eight points where larger increases of 1.2% – 2.65% would apply.

The three trade unions in dispute (University and College Union, Unite and Educational Institute of Scotland) will consult their committees and members again now that the Dispute Resolution procedure has concluded.

A further update will be provided once the trade unions have advised UCEA of the outcome of this consultation. This is not expected to be available until early October.
