We’ve been welcoming the latest students from our University of Southampton Malaysia Campus (USMC) for the start of the new academic year.
Those progressing from Malaysia to Southampton this autumn include third and fourth year students enrolled on the MEng in Mechanical Engineering and, for the first time, third year students enrolled on the MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
This year, we are also welcoming the first students to study for the MEng in Aeronautics and Astronautics degree programme which was launched in September 2015.
All of these degrees are part of our Integrated International Engineering Education (IIEE) programme which allows students to spend two years studying in Malaysia, followed by two years studying in the UK.
Since arriving in Southampton, students have been familiarising themselves with their new surroundings and teaching laboratories, and have had the opportunity to attend welcome events such as a workshop on ‘Making sense of British Culture.’
Professor John McBride, Chief Executive Officer at USMC, said:
“Our degree programmes at the University of Southampton Malaysia Campus offer students the opportunity to experience our world-class education, with two years of study in Malaysia followed by two years in the UK.
“Students graduate with a degree from an internationally recognised university and gain a truly global education experience.
“It has been a pleasure getting to know the students during their time in Malaysia and we wish them all the best as they continue their studies in the UK.”
