Black and minority ethnic (BME) academics, of any grade, are invited to complete a survey run by a University research project to understand the experience of BME leaders in higher education institutions (HEIs).
The project called ‘BME leaders: support networks and strategies for success in higher education’ draws on survey data to provide an overall picture, followed by case study interviews with BME academics in senior decision-making roles.
Research findings will be used to inform HEIs on ways they can help BME academics progress into senior roles.
This project is a joint collaboration between Kalwant Bhopal, Professor of Education and Social Justice (pictured) and Dr Hazel Brown, Faculty Of Business Law and Sport at the University of Winchester.
You can find the survey here.
It is funded by the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education.
BME is defined as individuals who identify as Black, Asian or Chinese and those who are from mixed heritage backgrounds.
