Obituary for Lorraine Rambour, former Faculty of Health Sciences colleague

It is with great sadness that we advise colleagues of the untimely death of a former Faculty of Health Sciences colleague, Lorraine Rambour.

lorraine_rambourAs a Southampton graduate herself, Lorraine originally joined the School of Health Professions and Rehabilitation Sciences in 1998 as a lecturer in podiatry.

Lorraine radiated a great enthusiasm for education and her profession, playing a central role in supporting new students making the transition to higher education, developing key aspects of podiatry practice education and excelling in providing mentorship to her tutees. Her research in the field of wound healing was recognised with awards from the podiatry professional body.

Lorraine passed away last week after a long battle with illness. We extend our condolences to her family and friends.

Lorraine’s funeral will be held at 11:00 on Tuesday 20 October at the Stoneham Crematorium, Bassett Green Road. For colleagues who wish to show their respects but are unable to attend the funeral, there will be a small gathering at the flag pole on Highfield Campus at 11:00 that day.

With Lorraine’s untimely passing we have lost a colleague and friend who will be fondly remembered.
