The University welcomes new Commonwealth Scholars

The University has recently welcomed 10 new scholarship students from developing Commonwealth countries.

Current students were also invited to share their experiences. In 2015-16 the University will have a total of 18 Commonwealth Scholars from a range of countries in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean, including Antigua, Bangladesh, Dominica, Ghana, India, Malawi, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, St Vincent and the Grenadines, South Africa, Uganda and  Zambia.

The highly competitive scholarships offer full funding for Masters and PhD programmes which can demonstrate a relevance to developing countries. Current scholars are enrolled in subject areas such as Biological Sciences, Education, Electrical Engineering, Geography, Health Sciences, Law, Management, Mathematical Sciences, Medicine, Modern Languages, Ocean and Earth Science, Psychology and Statistics.

The Commonwealth Scholarship schemes are co-ordinated by the International Office. The 2016 standard Scholarship scheme and the Shared Scholarship scheme are currently open for applications. For further information please contact Alison Tebbutt.
