Introducing Enabling Services

Enabling Services provides a wide variety of support services for students who have disabilities, mental health problems, or specific learning difficulties.

Enabling

The team is able to offer a wide range of appointment options: face to face, telephone or via Skype.

Appointments can be arranged by either attending the weekday drop-in sessions from 13:00 –15:00 in the Student Services Centre (Building 37 – Highfield Campus), or by emailing Enabling Services.

Crisis Support

The First support team can be contacted during office hours to arrange support for students who may be facing difficulties in their life or dealing with a crisis.

Wednesday Workshops

Enabling Services run a series of Wellbeing Workshops on Wednesday afternoons throughout the academic year.

Mental Health and Wellbeing

The Enabling Services advisors are trained to recognise common mental health problems and identify the best form of support for students, such as self-help resources or counselling.

Dyslexia and Study Support

Enabling provide services such as study skills tutorials for students with dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties. Full diagnostic assessments can be arranged.

Disability Support

The team also provide services for students with a wide range of disabilities and health conditions.

Assessment Centre

The Wessex Needs Assessment Centre (WNAC) provides specialist assessments for students with disabilities and specific learning difficulties, many of whom are eligible for Disables Students Allowances (DSA).
