Global Entrepreneurship Week

Whether you have never thought of yourself as being enterprising, or if you have an idea for a new business, Global Entrepreneurship Week is for you.

Academic staff, external speakers and student enterprise societies from the University will be delivering the Global Entrepreneurship Week programme, which takes place from Saturday 14 November until Sunday 22 November 2015.

An Enterprise Showcase will be taking place on the SUSU Redbrick and Concourse on Tuesday 17 November. You can find out more via their Facebook page.

Take Off

Take Off is a business funding platform. It provides six speaker sessions, in both semesters, regarding enterprise and starting your own business. Mentoring sessions are also facilitated through the alumni office at request.

There is also the year-end Take Off Competition where you can pitch a business idea to a panel of judges and have the opportunity to receive a slice of £50,000 in funding.

Small Business Clinic

The Small Business Clinic is run throughout the academic year by a voluntary group of Law and Business students and staff with the support of a local firm of chartered accountants.

They offer free initial advice on a range of issues to include all aspects of general, legal and tax compliance matters relating to running a business in the UK.

Alternatively, you can choose to join one of the many student societies focusing on entrepreneurship: Hackasoton, ECS Entrepreneurs, Fish on Toast & Enactus. You can also visit the Future Worlds website that focuses on linking students with enterprise resources.
