It is with great sadness that we inform staff and students about the untimely passing of Alex Copland, who graduated with a BSc Management and Entrepreneurship and a certificate in Marketing in 2011.
Alex was a very active volunteer within the Students’ Union, holding positions including Head of Marketing at Surge Radio, President and Head of Design for the Alternative and Indie Music Society, and Journalist/Writer for The Edge. He also worked for several years as a Customer Services Representative for the University.
Alex passed away on 21 October from a rare and aggressive form of cancer. His funeral was held last Friday at Southampton crematorium, seeing a full attendance from many friends and family, including other Southampton alumni.
Our thoughts are with Alex’s family at this very sad time.
