Travel advice for staff and students

international students at airportThe University community has been shocked and saddened by events in Paris and we recognise there is an increased level of concern about travel to France, Belgium and other countries, at this time of heightened security.

In the light of the recent global terrorist activities, the University would like to remind all staff and students to undertake thorough risk assessments before they travel.

Please be advised that there are currently no Foreign and Commonwealth Office or insurance restrictions on travel to France or Brussels. However, if staff feel that travel is unsafe or unnecessary at this time they should discuss other options with their line managers in the first instance.

Staff can keep up to date with advice at the UK Government’s foreign travel webpages and can register for information from the University’s insurance provider, AIG.
