Enjoy the enchantment of Christmas on Campus this year. Whether you are about to leave for Christmas or staying in the Halls over the break, there are plenty of festivities to get your Christmas spirit going.
Family Christmas on Campus
After the success of last year’s event we are delighted to confirm we will again be holding our Family Christmas Event on Monday 21 December between 16.00 – 18.00. This event is aimed specifically at families with under 12’s. We will be welcoming Santa to campus, as well as having a variety of children’s entertainers and again a wonderful fireworks display to close the show.

Christmas in the Halls
Christmas day – Christmas tea and cake party with traditional Christmas buffet. There will be a mixture of board games and PlayStation 4’s available for use and a range of Christmas and non-Christmas films. Events will start at 8:00pm (9:00pm at Wessex Lane)
Boxing Day – “Chill out” film night with popcorn and snacks. Events will start at 8:00pm (9:00pm at Wessex Lane).
- Archers Road will be showing ‘Inside Out’ in the St Margaret’s Common room
- EP will be showing ‘Home Alone’ 1 and 2 in the common room
- Wessex Lane will be showing ‘Home alone’ in the SCR
- Glen Eyre will be showing ‘Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation’ in the PDR room.
- Mayflower will be showing ‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E’ in the common room.
- City Gateway will be holding an international themed night with students being asked to cook traditional dishes and bring them along to the party.
New Year’s Day – The Big RESSUP Quiz of the Year. This is a topical quiz based on the idea of the TV show ‘The Big Fat Quiz of the Year’. Rounds will be organised by the month of the year and include questions relating to news items, popular culture and sport. The quiz will be held at Wessex Lane, City Gateway, Mayflower and Glen Eyre.
New Year’s Eve – New Year’s Eve tea and cake party, watch the countdown on the TV and ring in the New Year with Residences Support. Board games, play stations and films will be available for you to use.
Arts Events on campus
Looking for some Christmas cheer and traditional festive entertainment on Campus? The Nuffield Theatre, Turner Sims and John Hansard Gallery will be running some exciting arts events over the Christmas holidays.
Freshers’ Christmas Ball
Although tickets for the Freshers’ Christmas Ball are now all sold out, you can enquire about other students selling tickets on the Facebook event.
Southampton Christmas Market
