Christmas Advent Calendar – win daily prizes this December

We’ve had a fantastic response to our Christmas Advent Calendar. Thank you to everyone who posted a comment on SUSSED. The correct answer was Italian and ‘bad air’.

Today’s Calendar has now closed and our winners are: Bethany Harris (£30 meal voucher), Samuel Jellard (hoodie), Naveed Dogar (chocolate Santa). We will email all the winners separately in the next 24 hours and let them know where to pick up their prizes. Congratulations.

There’ll be more exciting prizes on offer in tomorrow’s Advent Calendar. Good luck.

To bring a bit of extra festive spirit to the University this year, we’re offering staff and students a chance to win prizes on each weekday until the end of term.

Christmas Advent Calendar - day 1

All you have to do is comment on each individual SUSSED post with your name, email address and answer to our quiz question. Your email address will be kept private and only be used to send you details if you win a prize.

Tuesday 1 December

Q: From which language does the word “malaria” come and what does it mean?

Comment below with your answer and you could win today’s prize of a £30 meal voucher at The Stable – a new Southampton pizza restaurant that has kindly donated these vouchers for our Calendar. Each day, we will also pick a first runner-up who will win a University hoodie and a second runner-up who will win a chocolate Santa.

Any staff or student who comments with the correct answer will have their name put into a hat. Winners will be drawn at 16:00 today.

For more information about the research that the University is doing around malaria, please visit the We Are Connected webpages.
