Thank you to everyone who has taken part in our fourth day of the Christmas Advent Calendar. The correct answer was 30,000!
Today’s calendar has now closed and our winners are: Linda Welch (two tickets to see ESKA), Di Yang (hoodie), Luke Goater (chocolate Santa). We will email all the winners separately and let them know where to pick up their prizes. Congratulations.
There’ll be more exciting prizes on offer next week as our Advent Calendar continues. Good luck.

To bring a bit of extra festive spirit to the University this year, we’re offering staff and students a chance to win prizes on each weekday until the end of term.
All you have to do is comment on each individual SUSSED post with your name, email address and answer to our quiz question. Your email address will be kept private and will only be used to send you details if you win a prize.
Friday 4 December
Q: There is enough optical fibre installed globally to circle the world how many times?
- 10,000
- 20,000
- 30,000
Comment below with your answer and you could win today’s prize of two tickets to see ESKA (recent Mercury Music Prize nominee) in January – the prize has been generously donated by Turner Sims. Each day, we will also pick a first runner-up who will win a University hoodie and a second runner-up who will win a chocolate Santa.
Any staff or student who comments with the correct answer will have their name put into a hat. Winners will be drawn at 16:00 today.
