Students take part in Global Entrepreneurship Week

This November, the University took part in Global Entrepreneurship Week by hosting a series of events and activities under the banner of Enterprise for Life.

The events aimed to help show that enterprise is about far more than just starting up a business. Enterprise and entrepreneurial skills, such as seeing opportunities, problem solving, creativity and innovation prepare you for all sectors of employment and all challenges of life.

We thank those who attended the varied programme of events; including an entrepreneur debate, academic and external speakers, workshops and a hackathon focused on university improvement.

Sarah Rogers, Southampton Opportunity Project Manager, said:

“Global Entrepreneurship Week at the University has been a great collaboration between academic staff, students, the Students’ Union, professional services staff, external speakers and alumni, all coming together to provide an excellent programme of enterprise awareness raising events for our students.

“The University provides so many opportunities for students to grow and develop their enterprise skills within and outside their programmes of study, and this week has helped provide some great insights into what we offer.”
