Placement students from Southampton Business School returned to the University for a conference day on Friday 4 December.
The students came together to meet peers in Years 1 and 2 and share their stories about life on placement. They showcased a series of engaging ‘Day in the Life’ presentations detailing different aspects of the world of work, and highlighting future opportunities in their organisations.
Arriving from local small and medium-sized enterprises such as Fresh Relevance and Nine23, to large multinationals such as Morgan Stanley and Grant Thornton, a clear picture emerged about the variety of different experiences students can enjoy on placement.
Rob Jack, Placement Advisor, said:
“Our students are engaging in an impressive variety of work, applying their knowledge and skills developed during their degree into the professional environment. It’s been great to welcome the line managers of some of our students, who are clearly very supportive and keen to engage more with the University.”
Current placement students will return to Southampton in September 2016 to complete their undergraduate studies. For more details on the Southampton Business School placement programme, please visit the University website.
