iSolutions will be carrying out improvements to the network and the Southampton Virtual Environment (SVE) during the weekend of 19 – 20 December.
Network outage – Saturday 19 December 08:00 – 12:00
A number of sites will be at risk between 08:00-12:00, however the outage at each location will only last for approximately 20 minutes. During each 20 minute outage there will be no network connection, including Wi-Fi and the telephone network.

All Highfield campus buildings, Avenue campus, Bassett House, 34 Bassett Crescent, East NOCS, Print Unit Empress Road, Queen Alexandra Hospital, WSA, Arc Centre Basingstoke, St Mary’s Hospital IOW, Aldermoor Health Centre, Wide Lane Sports Ground, Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Royal South Hampshire Hospital, Winchester School of Art, College Keep.
Southampton Virtual Environment (SVE) unavailable
The SVE will be unavailable from 17:00 on Friday 18 December until 09:00 on Monday 21 December.
Users who are already logged will receive warnings prompting them to save their work and log out from 16:00. There will be a final 5 minute warning shortly after 17:00.
This upgrade will improve performance, security and reliability of SVE and is part of a larger project to upgrade the University’s hardware and software.
