Having a professional mentor increases your chances of gaining graduate level employment after University. You can gain invaluable knowledge and expertise from a mentor especially chosen for you to support your transition into the graduate job market.

Our mentors work in a range of careers sectors including: Financial services, healthcare, law, engineering, IT and business management, amongst many others.

Here’s what previous mentees have said about their experiences.

“It was really good to have the attention of a successful person who supports and helps you. It was good to have someone with whom I can talk about my fears, difficulties, weaknesses, and who helped me to move on. I have got inspiration, I found my career path and I am more confident now to enter to the job market.”

“I have found it extremely useful and hope to keep in touch with my mentor in the future. She was interested in assisting me to improve and I really appreciate it! If there is a chance for another Mentoring programme, I would join again. Thank you!”

The Insider Career Mentoring Programme is open to all students. Applications are open until 12 February on the Careers Service webpages.

If you have a specific idea for a business and want to benefit from the experience of a business mentor then you can apply to join the University’s Business Acceleration Programme.
