Staff and students are invited to attend a conference about Open Badges in Higher Education on 8 March 2016 at Garden Court on Highfield Campus.
Open Badges appear as a digital icon on a website. They represent a skill you’ve earned and allow you to link through to a portfolio of those achievements.
Both individuals and organisations can issue Open Badges and they build to tell the full story of your accomplishments. Open Badges can be shared with others to enhance your future employment or education opportunities.
Alex Neill, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) says:
“The use of ‘Open Badges’ is attracting a great deal of attention in the sector and indeed much more widely, and this conference represents an opportunity to explore and influence rapidly emerging ideas and practice.”
The event is being organised by Institute for Learning Innovation and Development (ILIaD). Proposals for contributions to the conference are invited via their slate which outlines the event in more detail.
Keep an eye out on twitter for more details.
