The University has placed 60th overall in a list of the ‘most international universities in the world’, as published by Times Higher Education (THE).
Southampton ranks 21st amongst UK universities in this year’s list of 200 institutions from around the world.
As announced in October, Southampton rose to 110th in this year’s THEWorld University Rankings where ‘International Outlook’ is a key indicator. The category reflects each institution’s international student numbers, its percentage of international staff and the proportion of its research papers published with a co-author from at least one other country.
The THE has extended this year’s rankings for ‘most international universities’ to reflect the top 200 institutions after previously listing the top 100. This year’s list encompasses a wider range of institutions that achieved a place in the top 800 world ranked universities overall.
