Pure, the University’s new research information system, is now scheduled to go live on 22 February 2016.
Researchers are reminded that from this date, they will need to deposit their research outputs in Pure rather than ePrints, which will continue as the University’s repository for web discoverability.
To facilitate the implementation of Pure, researchers are also reminded that ePrints log-in will be disabled ahead of the launch with users redirected to Pure after a one week switchover. Outputs displayed on researchers’ web pages are likely to be frozen throughout March.
This launch will help the University comply with the new HEFCE Open Access policy. From 1 April 2016, researchers should deposit their final peer reviewed author manuscript at the point of acceptance, for journal articles and conference proceedings, to ensure Open Access compliance and REF eligibility.
Pure is simple to use but a range of support will be available including Faculty-based experts and online user-guides, details of which will be provided on dedicated web pages in the coming weeks. Comprehensive training sessions will be arranged within the Faculties.
