Sport and Wellbeing are hosting an advanced course for more experienced skippers, providing them with the theoretical knowledge required for the Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster Practical Examination.
It is recommended that candidates have a prior knowledge to the level of day skipper or equivalent, as the course requires a high level of independent work.
In addition to the course cost, a charge of approximately £40 will be levied for practice navigation tables and assessment papers which should be paid direct to the Instructor at the first session.
The course runs for 4 weeks from 18:00 – 21:00 on Tuesday Evenings and 9:00 – 17:00 on Saturdays, participants are expected to attend all dates.
Course starts on Tuesday 2 February and finishes on Saturday 27 February. Costs:
- Sport and Wellbeing members – £125 + £40 payable on first session for Training materials
- Staff, students and community partners – £140 + £40 payable on first session for Training materials
- Public – £180 + £40 payable on first session for Training materials
