The Web Science Institute is delighted to announce a lecture with Dr Ted Nelson, American pioneer of information technology, philosopher and sociologist, from 13:00 – 14:00 on Tuesday 9 February.
Dr Nelson will be giving a talk entitled Two Cheers for Now, and will address the subject of ‘What I hoped for in 1960 and what the world has become’.
Dr Nelson coined the terms hypertext and hypermedia in 1963 and published them in 1965.
The lecture will take place in 1027/ 67 (Nightingale Building), Highfield Campus.
This lecture is open to all staff and students.
