University launches WhatsApp channel for current students

The University has launched a WhatsApp service to help inform current students about relevant news, events and opportunities.

In the recent Student Communications survey, 73% of respondents said they use instant messaging services daily. Following a three month testing period with a handful of volunteers, this service is now being opened to all current students.

The channel allows students to select which topics they want to receive updates about and the news is then sent straight to their phone.

Note that you will still receive vital information through email; however, we hope this is a convenient way for you to be in the loop and stay up-to-date.

How to add the University on WhatsApp

Add our number ‘07733 000 781’ into your WhatsApp contacts list and message us ‘News’ to start getting updates. You can then also subscribe to receive more personalised content by messaging us:

  • ‘Events’ (to keep up to date about what is happening on campus and when)
  • ‘Opportunities’ (to hear about development opportunities, volunteering, workshops, and new initiatives)

You’ll be able to unsubscribe at any time by messaging ‘Stop’.

If you have any questions please email [email protected].
