Two final year Law School students Amber Athill and Sarah Pimblett recently won their way through to the Grand Final of the prestigious Landmark Chambers Property Moot.
24 teams from all over the UK took part in the competition and having beaten strong teams from the Universities of Exeter, Durham and Sussex in the first two rounds, Amber and Sarah will face teams from Cambridge, Leicester and University College London in next month’s Final.
This will be held at the Royal Courts of Justice in London. The prize for the winning competitors is the opportunity to undertake a mini-pupillage at Landmark Chambers and a cash prize of £500.
Southampton Law School has an impressive record in this competition with two of our students having reached the final last year and one of them, Fareed Anees, winning the competition.
Following their success, Amber commented
“I am so glad that I took part in the Landmark Chambers Property Moot. It has been an excellent opportunity to gain proper practical experience and has thoroughly enhanced my confidence to moot. We are both very surprised to have reached the final but could not be happier.”
Team-mate Sarah said,
“This has been a fantastic experience and I am so pleased that we have managed to get Southampton to the final of this competition for the second year in a row!”
