Monday 22 – Sunday 28 February will mark the Student Volunteering Week (SVW) with events and activities taking place across the country. Students from over 100 colleges and universities will be running workshops, activities and campaigns to celebrate volunteering.
At the University of Southampton, we will celebrate a different theme for each day of the week so there will be something for everyone.
To give you a little taster of what the Students’ Union, the Careers and Employability Service and Southampton Hub have planned, Monday will host an introduction to volunteering and all its benefits – don’t miss the Volunteering Fayre taking place in the Concourse.
On Tuesday morning, Headway, a charity that aims to improve the life of those who have brain injury, will present their poems from the Biscuit Poetry group.
Make sure you get involved on Thursday in gardening at Portswood Recreational community centre. The week will end on a high note with a fantastic celebration within the Students’ Union to highlight the successes of all the volunteers involved.
These are just a few of the many events planned. To find out more and register your interest, visit the University website.
