University launches new Year in Employment programme for students

A brand new programme, Year in Employment, is opening for expressions of interest from penultimate year undergraduate students who wish to spend a year working in an organisation as part of their degree.

Your placement doesn’t have to relate to your studies – offering therefore the fantastic chance to explore any area of work you are interested in.

As long as the placement provides high-quality work experience, students are permitted to work anywhere in the UK or across the world in your chosen industry.

A year spent in a working environment will help develop a huge range of new skills and provide valuable work experience to support your future aspirations. If you’re unsure of jobs that you’d excel at, the Year in Employment can also offer career motivation and inspiration.

If eligible, students will complete the Year in Employment between the penultimate and final year. Eligible students are generally those without a placement opportunity or Year Abroad opportunity within their course, but please contact the placement team for further information.

If you’d like to speak to the placements team, or find out about the next steps, please email [email protected].

The Placements team will also be at the Careers and Placements Fair, on Tuesday 23 February – come and have a chat with us then.
