Tim Elliott said of his appointment:

“I am very excited to be joining the executive team at such an important time for the University. I am fortunate to have been a part of the Southampton success story over the past 16 years and I am looking forward to ensuring that research and innovation continues to flourish across the whole University.”

“In addition to my role as PVC, I will continue to run my lab with its focus on molecular immunology and bridges the UHS and Highfield campuses; where we have one large interdisciplinary programme funded by CRUK and another by Unilever.   I will be taking up Directorship of the Southampton Centre for Cancer Immunology in November 2016: about a year before the new building is due to open and in plenty of time to make sure we hit the ground running.”

Professor Sir Christopher Snowden said of Tim’s appointment:

“I am delighted that Tim is taking up the role of interim Pro Vice-Chancellor Research and Enterprise. His proven track record of research success and his wider role in the Cancer Immunology initiative provide a strong basis for this senior appointment. I am confident that Tim will provide strong leadership for our research and enterprise activities.”
