All other University Library sites: Winchester School of Art, the Health Services Library, the National Oceanography Library and the Library & Learning Commons at the Avenue Campus, will open throughout the summer.  Check for details at:  http://library.soton.ac.uk/opening

Staff will continue to be available to answer questions and guide you to books and resources as you continue your studies.

As usual, during the summer months, the Library will undertake building and other improvement works.  In the Hartley Library, for instance, a summer project to improve ventilation and air handling across much of the building will begin as soon as the exams end.  Look out for information about these works in the Hartley Library, on the Library blog and Facebook page.

Loan periods for Library materials remain the same throughout the summer period.

The University Library will send an email to the finalists reminding you to return all items that you have on loan and to clear your Library account.  The Library will continue to send all notices via your University email account, so please do continue to check your email following your final exam or end of your course.

If you are travelling within the UK and would like to take advantage of the reciprocal arrangement between some University Libraries to enable students to access for reference purposes only, you can familiarise yourself with the SCONUL Summer Vacation Access scheme.  All you need to do is take your home institution library card along to your University of choice, where you will be signed up for access. It is advised, however, that you contact the institution prior to arrival to check whether they need proof of when your course ends. See more details here.

Visit the library blog, which is updated regularly with useful information. For further information, you can find contact details for the University libraries here.
