The University is running a course for undergraduate students looking to develop their communication and engagement skills.
Communicating in an engaging manner can bring what you’re saying to life and make your audience take more of it in and remember it.
It will be delivered in two parts – learning/revising your communication skills in the classroom and then putting what you learn into practice by taking part in one of the University’s public engagement events, such as those run by the Bringing Research to Life Roadshow. Look at the University website for further information and a provisional list of dates and events for 2016.
This course is aimed at undergraduates of all years; it is particularly recommended for those in their second year (and third year of 4 year degrees). Module coordinators and personal tutors are requested to recommend this course to their students as an opportunity for them to enhance their skillset and to meet like-minded individuals.
Here is what one of our students, who completed the course in February 2016 and then joined the University Research Roadshow at the Brighton Science Festival, had to say:
“Definitely want to do this again! I’ve learnt so much today!”
The next course will take place in March. You can sign up by completing a short form here.
