Here are a few activities which you can sign-up for now:

‘Opposites Attract’ Collaboration Challenge

‘Opposites Attract’ will pair up doctoral researchers from different areas to collaborate and produce an output for the Festival e.g. a blog, poster, video, hands-on activity or display, proposal for further research. Successful pairs will be supported with training and up to £200 to produce their output.

Students who are interested in taking part can apply before 17:00 on Friday 11 March on the Doctoral College website.

Doctoral Researcher Image Competition and Exhibition

Focussing on a theme which is commonly associated with the doctoral experience, postgraduate researchers are invited to show, through one image, what ‘resilience’ in research means to them. Send your entry in by 17:00 on Monday 4 April for a chance to win one of two £50 vouchers and be part of the Festival exhibition.

Guest speaker: Francesco Dimitri

Presenting an engaging lecture along with two workshops, Francesco will explore the theme: ‘Reaching your full potential: the power of wonder’. Francesco said:

“A PhD is a journey and while exciting, it can also be daunting… When we try to get published, when we feel our work piling on top of us or when we feel we haven’t achieved as much as our peers. How can we keep our eyes set on our goal?”

Book your free space for the lecture and a workshop on the Doctoral College website.
