A section of road alongside Buildings 29 and 35 on Highfield Campus will be closed to motorists from Saturday 12 March until Monday 18 April, as part of a project to replace the roof of Building 29.
The road closure will allow the University to safely erect scaffolding. The diagram below shows the extent of the closure, which stretches to the junction with Hartley Avenue.
Parking adjacent to the building will also be unavailable from Saturday 12 March.
As part of this project, a new wind-responsive fume extract system will be introduced to serve the chemistry laboratories in Building 29, a more energy-efficient system to the one currently in place.
The project is expected to be completed at the end of September 2016 and Estates will keep staff and students updated as work progresses.
