The deadline for runners to participate in this year’s ABP Southampton 10k and half marathon is quickly approaching. Anyone who is interested in running is encouraged to complete their registration before Tuesday 15 March online.
The event is a great opportunity for members of the local and University community to come together and to fundraise on behalf of the new Centre for Cancer Immunology. If you have already signed up and are considering running in aid of the new Centre, please get in touch with Katherine Carter to learn more.
Volunteers needed
We are looking for students and staff to volunteer on the day of the race (24 April) to help cheer on our runners and engage the community in this fantastic fundraising campaign.
- Mile Makers – Partnering with RAG, we need 40 staff and students to help us cheer on our runners as they pass through University Road and other stops along the route. As a Mile Maker you will be helping to raise £200 towards the new Centre.
- Start/finish helpers – Help us spread the word about the new Centre and inform members of the local community about how they can get involved, at our stall at the start/finish of the race. You will also be keeping a look out for our runners, as they return from their race, cheering them across the finish line.
