From today, Monday 18 April, the steps between the Student Union (Building 42) and the Jubilee Sports Centre (Building 18) will be closed as part of a project to replace the roof covering on Building 42.
The diagram below shows details of the closure, which will be in place throughout the summer. The steps, which lead down the side of Sports Hall, are due to re-open on 27 September 2016.
The project will overlay the existing roof covering to the Sports Hall, and also includes replacement of the high level Sports Hall windows and some new external doors. Scaffolding is being put in place around the building for the duration of the project.
Signage will be in place to help pedestrians find an alternative route. Estates and Facilities would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused during these works.
