Your opinion matters – Tell us what you think by completing the NSS by 30 April 2016

NSS email 600 x 200

The National Student Survey (NSS) is your opportunity to give your opinions on how well the University teaches and supports its students. It is your chance to help us change for the better.

As a final year student you have experienced the University and the Students’ Union for at least the last three years and so you have an informed opinion. Your input can make a real difference in helping us choose which areas need the greatest focus and investment, which will help enhance the experience of future Southampton students.

In the past, we have utilized your feedback to improve our services to students. For example, you asked for help to find part-time work opportunities so in September last year, the Students’ Union launched their on-site recruitment agency, SURecruit, which has since helped many students find work.

You asked for extended Library service so the Hartley Library’s 24 hour service has been extended across the academic year so that you are never lacking quiet study space. Further examples can be found on the University’s new You Said, We Did site.

What will the NSS ask me?

The questions allow you to provide feedback on a range of topics, from how you would rate the academic support you received during your studies, to how satisfied you were with the organisation and management of your programme. You can even comment on the Students’ Union.

At the end of the survey there is space for any comments you have about your experience.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir Christopher Snowden, said:

“I take great interest in your feedback and will read every comment you make in the NSS [National Student Survey] about your time at Southampton.”

So how can I get involved?

If you are eligible for the survey, Ipsos MORI will have contacted you via email, post and phone by now. We thank everyone who has already completed the survey. For those of you who have yet to complete it, we urge that you do so before 30 April 2016, it takes only 10 minutes. If you’d prefer to complete the survey online you can do so at http://www.thestudentsurvey.com/ and avoid receiving further reminders.

We’d be very grateful for your feedback and support.
