són orchestra presents “Eroica Unwrapped” at Turner Sims with John Suchet

Following their sensational sell-out launch last November, són – Southampton’s vibrant, new professional orchestra – continue their “Unwrapped” series of concerts with Eroica Unwrapped on Friday 22 April, 20.00 at Turner Sims. Established by Robin Browning, conducting lecturer in the University’s Music Department, the orchestra is going from strength to strength.

The concert features John Suchet, the celebrated classic FM presenter and author. John joins són on stage to explore Beethoven’s life and his Eroica symphony in real depth, offering audiences plenty of musical signposts before the second half, when they perform the symphony in full. John Suchet will be signing copies of his books during the interval.

Future events for són include a Magical Midsummer Family concert on 18th June. The concert will involve selected University of Southampton music students, playing with the orchestra as part of són’s “masterclass” programme, and also features live drama from Southampton University Players.

Tickets for both these are on sale at the Turner Sims box office and són
