Dr Roxana Carare has been named Influential Woman of the Year at the 2016 Southampton Venus Awards.
Dr Carare, Associate Professor Clinical Anatomy and Programme Lead for the Masters in Medical Science, is pioneering ground-breaking research into the cause and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.
The award, announced during a ceremony at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton, was sponsored by Peter Cooper Volkswagen Hedge End and presented by the company’s Brand Manager Chris Godfroy who said:
“It is really important to recognise the enormous contributions women make to our society, in business and in our community.”
This year’s Southampton Venus Awards attracted nearly 1,300 nominations and applications across 16 categories.
