The LGBT Employee Network will be working with the charity Holding Hands 4 Equality HH4E to create a special University of Southampton ‘Holding Hands’ video for the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia, on 17 May 2016 – but we need your help.
The HH4E campaign is all about supporting equality by using photos showing people ‘holding hands’. The act of holding hands is simple and demonstrative, but something which is still so hard for many people to do.
To join the campaign and show you support equality for everybody all you have to do is take a picture holding hands with someone you care about – and send it to the LGBT network email. It can be a loved one, a friend or University colleague – just anyone you are happy to hold hands with. We will use the photos to create a video which will then be shared online – so please only send your photo if you are happy for it to be used for this purpose.
To give you an idea of the kind of thing we will produce, please see last year’s HH4E IBM video collaboration here.
You don’t need to be L, G, B or T to support equality so please do share this email with all your friends and colleagues at the University and ask them to send their Holding Hands photos too. Get clicking and send your photos in before 3 May 2016.
The more photos we get, the better.
