The Nexus Science USRG (University Strategic Research Group) will welcome Professor Tim Benton, the UK’s Global Food Security Champion to Highfield Campus on 15 June 2016.
Nexus Science is our newest USRG, focusing on the complex balance between demand for water, energy and food resources, and how the exploitation of any such resource may negatively impact others.
Fitting into a rich research community in this subject area, the USRG will develop understanding of WEF resource demands, and how to benefit society and the environment through their management. Careful resource management is important for global economic success, geopolitical security, and to maintain quality of life for future generations.
Professor Benton will be visiting the university to assist the Nexus Science team in setting research priorities against the global research landscape, assisting the University in its goal of consolidating its place as a world leader in this field.
