You are invited to attend the Intercultural Connections Southampton Lunchtime Seminar – Supporting International students: The Podiatry Experience.
This event will take place on Thursday 2 June 2016, 12.30 – 13.45 in Building 34, room 1020 (Lunch is provided at 12.30, with the seminar to begin at 12.45)
In this seminar Keith McCormick, Lecturer in Health Sciences, will share his practical experience of supporting international students.
Since 2006, Health Sciences have hosted international undergraduate students, mainly from Singapore, on the BSc (Hons) Podiatry programme. To date, 25 have graduated.
Keith will discuss what he’s learned from these ten years, and will also describe how Health Sciences have developed and maintained a sustainable partnership which is of mutual benefit to the University and partners in Singapore, with funding from the British Council Prime Minister’s Initiative. This seminar will be of interest to anyone working with international students.
The aims for the session are:
- to find out more about how international students have thrived on the BSc (Hons) Podiatry programme
- to share ideas for best practice
