The University is also celebrating after achieving the number one ranking for Electrical and Electronic Engineering in The Guardian’s subject tables for the second consecutive year. This marks the sixth time in eight years the University has led this table.
The news is also good in a number of other subject areas where Southampton scores a top 10 place including Art (8th); Civil Engineering (2nd); Computer Science & Information Systems (10th); Education (4th); Fashion & Textiles (8th); Health Professions (8th); Media & Film Studies (4th); Mechanical Engineering (8th); Medicine (9th); Modern Language & Linguistics (4th); Music (10th); Philosophy (8th); Psychology (9th); and Physics (4th).
This is the 11th consecutive year in which Southampton has featured in the top 10 for Computer Science & Information Systems, Mechanical Engineering and Modern Languages & Linguistics.
Unlike many other ranking tables, the Guardian University Guide does not focus on research but is based upon a wide range of methodology.
