The announcement came as part of the official launch of ‘Cyber First’, a Government-led scheme which aims to encourage individuals to pursue a profession in cyber security and help meet the UK’s future national security needs.

Director of the University’s Cyber Security Academy (CSA), Professor Vladimiro Sassone said:

“The Government is responding to a skills gap by promoting cyber security education at all levels and Southampton is fully engaged in the process. We are pleased to receive this testimonial of the quality of our programmes.”

The CSA was launched in November 2015 with the aim of helping make government, businesses and consumers more resilient to cyber-attack.
