Staff Engagement Survey 2016: thank you

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s Staff Engagement Survey.

Staff Engagement Survey Final Result.fw

Your views and comments are extremely important and together, we will use them to make positive changes here at Southampton. Thanks to you, we achieved an impressive total response rate of 68 per cent.

Not only will your comments now be reviewed by The University Executive, but Vice-Chancellor Sir Christopher Snowden stated at his second all-staff address on Wednesday, 25 May 2016:

“I am quite serious, I am going to read every one of the survey results we get back, and I’m extremely keen to make sure that we can make the most of the positive and the negative views.”

Speaking on the importance of ensuring that the results of the survey are acted upon, Sir Christopher added:

“We need to put in place a structure where action plans will be developed locally with line management to look at what the issues are and to make sure it [change] happens.”

“I will want a positive response back that every area has done something […] there will be a follow through, and I’ll be wanting to know what the answers are, locally as well as across the University.”

The initial results will be shared with you on Monday, 6 June 2016 via SUSSED, so please watch this space.

Thank you once again for participating in this year’s survey. Staff engagement is vital to our future success together we will be simply better.
