A cross-disciplinary review of Life Sciences activity at Southampton has been commissioned by the University Executive Board (UEB).
With the aim of achieving international excellence in the area of Life Sciences as a whole, which ranked 120th in the 2015 QS World Rankings (18th in the UK), the review will focus on identifying and recommending specific areas for investment and will help to inform a new institutional strategy. It is hoped that this strategy will ensure we break into and maintain a top 10 place in the UK for our Life Sciences, as well as a top 100 world ranking.
Professor Tim Elliott, Interim Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise) will lead the review. Input will be sought from each Faculty and the Director of the Institute for Life Sciences (IfLS), with additional input from members of the IfLS External Advisory Committee, where appropriate.
Following the review, a report will be compiled for September 2016.
