A number of doctoral researchers were given awards for their fantastic achievements as part of the Festival of Doctoral Research Closing Reception last month.
The celebratory reception, the final event of the 16 day Festival, brought together more than 130 people from the Postgraduate Researcher (PGR) community to celebrate doctoral research at the University, and honour winners of the Doctoral College Director’s Awards and Researcher Photography Competition.
With more than 70 entries across the two competitions, the respective judging panel had a difficult task picking just one winner in each of the different categories.
A complete list of award winners and pictures from the reception are available to view here.
The festival was a first for the Doctoral College, which worked in partnership with Faculty Graduate Schools and Professional Services to organise more than 30 different events for the University’s PGR community.
Jo James, Doctoral College Professional Development Manager, said:
“It has been really exciting to see this first Festival taking shape, with the help and input of many researchers and staff from across the University, in what’s been a truly collaborative activity. It’s been a great way to celebrate the excellence and achievements of our doctoral researchers, and to encourage and support the doctoral community. Thanks very much to everyone who has been involved.”
Grateful thanks are extended to all those involved in the festival this year.
