Angeliki Laskari, a PhD student from the Aerodynamics and Flight Mechanics Group has been awarded the prestigious Amelia Earhart Fellowship.
The prestigious Fellowship, offered by Zonta International, is awarded annually to 35 women who demonstrate superior academic achievements in subjects relating to aerospace disciplines around the world.
Angeliki is the fourth doctoral researcher from the University to be awarded the Fellowship. Previously, Eda Dogan and Natalia Ortiz Gómez (Astronautics Research group) both received the award in 2015, with Francesca Letizia (Astronautics Research group) receiving it in 2013.
Commenting on her success, Angeliki said:
“Both my supervisors recommended I apply. Another student in our group, Eda, had been recognised the previous year and I thought why not? I was away in Germany when I found out that I had got the Fellowship, and was really pleased.”
