The University is seeking expressions of interest from internal candidates for the role of: Director of Student Experience (Level 7).
The Director of Student Experience will play a leading role in contributing to a single, joined up vision and strategy to lead the major departments relating to the student experience. The post holder will be accountable for delivering a positive student experience, which is fundamental to our success as a University.
Working closely with University academic departments and professional services engaged in support for student learning the successful candidate will provide the strategic thinking and influence required to ensure the University is best placed to attract, engage and nurture high-quality students.
The Director of Student Experience will drive continuous improvement in delivering a high-quality student experience for our diverse population of 24,000 students (16,000 undergraduate; 8,000 postgraduate), of which 6,500 are international students from more than 135 different countries, including international partnerships. This role will lead multiple directorates worldwide with 24/7/365 service provision, working closely with the Vice President Education, providing support for delivery of the Education Strategy.
The role will also be responsible for the relationship between the University and Union Southampton.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer the role has line management responsibility for Student Services, Student & Academic Administration and Student Recruitment & International Relations.
A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a track record of strategic senior management in a customer service or Higher Education environment, leadership experience in a range of demanding and influential roles and experience of managing significant organisational change.
