The Students’ Union is rebranded and changes name to Union Southampton

The rebrand follows months of consultation which involved 10 per cent of its membership in a University-wide survey, a series of workshops and a unanimous vote at Union council.

Scott McCarthy, Chief Executive of Union Southampton, explains the thinking behind the rebrand:

“We decided to change the brand to Union Southampton because we needed a brand that was more consistent, recognisable and with more creative potential.

“Our new name is ‘Union Southampton’. Our registered name remains The University of Southampton Students’ Union and ‘Us.’ is our logo.”

“The strapline is ‘Together’ because we are run by students for students and is a reminder to our members that we are united. That’s what makes Union Southampton so special – it’s all about us, together.”

The new logo has been designed so that it can be adapted to different communications campaigns. You can find some examples of how the logo is being used here.
